On Saturday, August 19th, 2017 thousands of counter-protesters gathered together at the Boston Commons, to publicly object to the xenophobic ideologies of white separatists, hosting a "Free Speech Rally" in the liberal state of Massachusetts. The photos in this gallery reflect the solidarity amongst the counter-protesters who attended the event.
The men photographed above traveled to Boston to protest against the Free Speech Rally.
There may be no words on this sign but the image above sends a very clear message.
The gentleman waving the flag worked diligently the night before to complete the design. The flag is a symbol of peace and unity. A group of educators wore t-shirts that read, White silence equals white consent, Black Lives Matter (center).
It was great to see counter- protesters demonstrating unity and taking a stand to reject the rally supporters message of hate. According to a Washington Post article, an estimated 40,000 protesters were in attendance.
